All was good for awhile there. I was really enjoying TAFE and doing reasonably well at it and then in mid March I became suicidal again. I realised that this was part of a wider seasonal cycle which the meds weren't keeping up with so in mid-March I admitted myself to a private facility for a medication review. Good went to bad which turned to worse and I spent the next six weeks in a total of four different hospitals as things went south after coming off certain medications. It took us four weeks to finally find a doctor who would actually listen to us. Medications were reviewed and I was put back on a new set of drugs and I haven't looked back... I am just hoping that it carries me past the next seasonal "swing".
While I was in hospital, Steve took the kids to the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. While I don't have photos yet, I do know that Leah loved the meer cats (sp?), Hannah loved the Otters and Caleb loved the monkeys! Sadly, Steve used the time that they were meant to stay with me to take them to the zoo, something which is about to be thrashed around in the lawyers rooms, but ultimately it worked out OK because I ended up in hospital and probably wouldn't have taken the time out to reassess my meds if I knew that the kids were coming.
On the upside the girls have been doing really well at school. Hannah came 4th in her age group at the school's cross country carnival. Leah came somewhere around the middle which she was happy with. Then they both won places in a Smith Family colouring-in contest. Hannah won an Education Week Award for Love of Learning which she was very proud of and most recently, last weekend, Leah entered the local eisteddfod with her trumpet. She was entered in four categories and came away with two firsts, a second and a third. Not bad for only having played for 18 months!
Caleb is growing up too. He is now almost completely toilet trained during the daytime but still in nappies because it is too cold to deal with wet undies at the moment.
They are all coming down in a few weeks time for the school holidays so I am pretty excited!
Hope this finds you all well.
