Well today has been mostly good.
I had Caleb for the day. We snuggled and watched Playhouse Disney in the morning, followed by morning tea with MILK! Caleb loves his rice milk! Then I put him down for a nap.
While he was napping, I left him with mum and went into town with a friend of mine for coffee and a catch up. It ended up turning into lunch and dessert, but it was a nice time!
I also bought some new shoes while I was in town. The podiatrist wanted me to wear enclosed shoes, while we were treating the multiple warts on my feet and of course, do you think I owned any enclosed shoes??? So $120 later, I now own two pair of enclosed shoes... sneakers and a pair of black ballet-style shoes.
I got home in time for a nanna nap before Caleb woke up from his nap. He ate some lunch, we went to the post office and then decided to walk down to the house so that he could play with some of his toys... there isn't much for him to do at Nanna and Poppie's. Of course, halfway there it started raining, and by the time we reached the house we were reasonably wet.
It turned out that Steve was out with his parents when we arrived so we sat on the verandah and occupied ourselves for an hour or so until he arrived home. A lady from church dropped in with some dinner for Steve and the kids so Caleb busied himself with eating one of the fish cakes that had been dropped in... tiny bit by tiny bit. Of course, that kept him occupied for quite a while. And once he had bored of that, he decided to play with the left over mung beans. He would take one out of the packet at a time and put them on top of his fish cake. Then once he had tired of that, he took each mung bean - one at a time - and threw them over the edge of the verandah... it would be interesting to see if we grow any bean sprouts in that patch of grass!
I stayed for a coffee which was a bit uncomfortable because John and Helen didn't try to make any conversation. They just seemed intent on staring at me. So I spent the time talking to Steve and Caleb and tried to pretend they weren't there.
I left and came home and went back into town with mum. I picked up Caleb's birthday presents out of layby and I picked up some magazines as well.
I've spent all night looking at uni re-enrolment for 2008 and working out which courses I am going to do. I have decided to go full-time and try to finish off my BA by the end of 2009. So I enrolled in 5 subjects for semester one and 3 for semester two. For some reason, the other two that I tried to enrol in online, wouldn't come up, so I'll go back and fix those two up later...
But yay! If things go the way I would like them to, I will be finished my BA by the end of 2009 and will have my Diploma in Children's Services as well!
So all, in all, its been a good day. And that's a nice relief.
