I go to Kindy!

Pitt St Kindy that is!

I started the first day of my volunteer work today at Hannah's old preschool. It was lots of fun. I got to observe the kids in all sorts of play. The group that I was with played outside all day which was a little chilly at times but lots of fun!

We built rockets, sandcastles, walls. We made chocolate and strawberry cakes in the sand. We read stories and painted.

I got to supervise certain areas, like painting and gross motor

I helped to serve morning and afternoon tea

And I helped the kids to share and play nicely with each other. There were a few bumps and bruises and with my first aid training I found that I was confident in intervening.

I didn't get a chance to read the staff orientation book but I will do that next week now that I have a better idea of what is expected of me.

And I think I will have to start practicing some obs.

If I get REALLY organised I will look into keeping a work journal too.

But it was really good fun and I think I am going to enjoy being a preschool teacher!
